The Culinary Institute of America

New York, USA

Food is our purpose

The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) is an American private college specializing in culinary and baking and pastry arts education. The CIA’s primary campus is located in Hyde Park, New York, with branch campuses in St. Helena, California, San Antonio, Texas, and the Republic of Singapore. The college has the largest staff of American Culinary Federation Certified Master Chefs. The CIA also offers continuing education for professionals in the hospitality industry as well as conferences and consulting services.

Learning

The CIA is committed to giving you the best start possible in food, and that means hiring only the most talented and credentialed instructors, deans, and leadership team.

Mystique

There’s a distinct pride in the way that CIA students carry themselves, mindful of the long tradition—since 1946—of professional excellence for which they are now the torchbearers.

At Home and Abroad

Choose a 15-week concentration semester or a two-week travel intensive (or both!) and, thanks to the CIA’s unrivaled connections around the globe, you’ll see, smell, taste, and experience things no one else does.

Quick Facts

The college offers multiple associate and bachelor's degrees programs, as well as a master's degree program. Each program requires a 15-week externship at a CIA-approved food service operation. The school's degree programs are accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
