The University of the Pacific (also referred to as Pacific or UOP) is a private university in Stockton, California. It is the oldest chartered university in California, the first independent co-educational campus in California, and both the first conservatory of music and first medical school on the West Coast.

Beyond Academics

With a focus on education, especially early literacy, high school graduation and college readiness, the university is working alongside local individuals and organizations to prepare more of our young people for a successful future.

Schools and Colleges

Pacific's eleven schools and colleges on its three campuses offer students their choice of 80-plus majors, including 21 graduate programs and 12 accelerated program options.

Athletics

University of the Pacific Tigers compete in NCAA Division I in seven men's and eleven women's sports, primarily in the West Coast Conference. As a founding member of the conference, Pacific shares its sister institutions' long tradition in intercollegiate athletics and their dedication to high-quality academics and athletic success.

The 2016 U.S. News & World Report ranking of U.S. colleges and universities ranked University of Pacific's undergraduate program tied for 108th in the "national universities" category. Among graduate programs, USN & WR ranked Pharmacy 48th best in the country, Speech-Language Pathology 84th best, and Physical Therapy 99th best.
